Meet the person behind Bramen Docs

I'm Jason Gray. I've been writing technical docs for 17 years.

Bramen Docs is my consultancy. I'm a Netherlands-based senior technical writer and documentation engineer who has owned the docs for core banking platforms, payments, a major online marketplace, and DevOps tools, from the API reference down to the publishing pipeline.

Services

Modern documentation, built end to end and ready for AI.

My specialty is moving legacy, convoluted docsets onto modern docs platforms, all while enhancing their usability and accuracy. I engineer bespoke documentation solutions for API references, content pipelines, information architecture and governance, and content that's ready for LLMs. I am also available for everyday writing work and ad hoc projects.

Industries Core & digital banking · Fintech & payments · SaaS · DevOps · E-commerce marketplaces

Docs modernization & migrations

Moving documentation off legacy tools and formats onto a modern platform without losing structure, links, or history, and cleaning it up on the way so you do not migrate the mess.

  • Content inventory and migration plan
  • Moves from wikis, SharePoint, Word/PDF, and legacy help authoring tools
  • Restructuring, deduplication, and link/redirect mapping
  • Scripted conversion and post-migration QA

AI & LLM-readiness

Preparing documentation for LLM ingestion so AI assistants, chatbots, and retrieval (RAG) systems give accurate answers, not confident wrong ones.

  • Readiness assessment of existing content
  • Restructuring into self-contained, retrievable sections
  • Metadata, taxonomy, llms.txt, and clean Markdown exports
  • Resolving contradictions, gaps, and stale content

Documentation engineering

Complete end-to-end docs solutions: the platform, the pipeline, and the authoring workflow, designed, built, and handed over ready to run.

  • Docs-as-code setup: Markdown, Git, static site generators
  • Content pipelines: automated build, checks, and publishing (CI/CD)
  • Docs analytics: search terms, page usage, findability gaps
  • Search, versioning, templates, and contributor workflow

API documentation

API references and developer guides, plus the scripting behind them: extracting specs and samples from source and making them runnable in the page.

  • OpenAPI-driven reference and developer portals
  • Getting-started guides, tutorials, and authentication walkthroughs
  • Interactive "try it" consoles and runnable code samples
  • Scripts that extract, test, and keep samples in sync with the API

Knowledge bases, internal & external

Customer help centers and internal team knowledge bases that people can actually find answers in, and that stay current.

  • Information architecture and navigation
  • Help center and internal wiki setup
  • Content governance and review cycles
  • Self-service and ticket-deflection content
